FFilmic Festival Rules and Guidelines

1. Eligibility:

  • FFilmic is open to film students and filmmakers of all age.

  • Films submitted must be completed after 2024.

  • Entrants can submit multiple films, but each film requires a separate submission.
     

2. Submission Categories:

  • Categories are :
    - Best Live Action Short Film
    - Best Animation Short
    - Best Documentary Short
    - Best Feature Documentary
    - Best Director
    - Best Cinematography
    - Best Editor
    - Best Film Score
    - Best Student FIlm (Submitter must be a attending school / university)
    -  Best Welsh Film
    -Take 8 (14 & Under age category ) 
    -Take 8 ( 15+ age category)

3. Submission Deadlines:

  • We accepting submissions from 1st of January until 14th of November.

  • Late submissions will not be accepted.
     

4. Entry Fees:

  • Entry fees are different for each category and are specified on FilmFreeway website.

  • Fees are non-refundable.
     

5. Submission Format:

  • Films must be submitted in a digital format, preferably via [Submission Platform].

  • Ensure films are in the specified format and resolution (e.g., 1080p).

  • Non-English language films must have English subtitles.
     

6. Content Guidelines:

  • Films must not contain offensive, defamatory, or explicit content.

  • Respect copyright and intellectual property rights. You must have the rights to use all content in your film.
     

7. Selection Process:

  • All submitted films will go through a selection process by our panel of judges.

  • Selected films will be notified by Email or phone.

  • Judges' decisions are final.
     

8. Screening Rights:

  • Selected films will be screened during the festival.

  • FFilmic has the right to use clips from submitted films for promotional purposes.
     

9. Awards and Prizes:

  • FFilmic will present awards in various categories, including Best Film, Best Director, and Audience Choice Award.

  • Category "Make film in 10 days" will be open 10 days prior to the festival. Each participant will receive genre, item and line.
    (this is the only BAFTA qualifying category)
    .

  • Details of awards and prizes will be announced on our website.
     

10. Workshops and Masterclasses:

  • Participants can register for workshops and masterclasses separately.

  • Limited seats are available, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
     

11. Networking and Collaboration:

  • FFilmic encourages filmmakers to network, collaborate, and explore opportunities during the festival.

  • Networking events will be organized.
     

12. Code of Conduct:

  • All attendees must adhere to a respectful and inclusive code of conduct, promoting a safe and welcoming environment for all.
     

13. Publicity and Promotion:

  • FFilmic reserves the right to use film stills, posters, and other promotional materials for festival promotion.
     

14. Disqualification:

  • Any breach of these rules may result in the disqualification of the film and forfeiture of entry fees.
     

15. Legal Disclaimer:

  • FFilmic is not responsible for any loss or damage to submitted materials.

16. Screenings at the Festival

  • All screenings at the FFilmic Festival from 2022 onwards will be conducted digitally in stereo audio format. Submissions must be delivered in either ProRes or H.264 format, with a frame rate of 25fps. Please note that we no longer accept DCPs or ProRes versions with 7.1 surround sound.
